Novelist Shares New Project ‘3.5 4 THA RIDE’

Lewisham rapper returns...

Novelist has shared his new project ‘3.5 4 THA RIDE’ in full.

The South London rapper is one of the UK’s most inspiring artists, someone who has continually walked his own path. Taking a self-recorded, self-released album to the Mercury shortlist, he’s moved from his grime roots to encompass a wonderfully broad sound.

New project ‘3.5 4 THA RIDE’ highlights his ability – and willingness – to spray over absolutely anything. ‘SCRATCH DAT’ verges on old school hip-hop, ‘GUN SIGNS’ has an afrobeats lilt, while ‘Grind Don’t Stop’ has a harder edge, taking influence from UK drill.

As ever with Novelist, there’s the sense of an artist pushing themselves to the limit, moving past barriers in the process. Eight tracks – and two remixes, from Remtrex and Sustrapperazzi – ‘3.5 4 THA RIDE’ underlines the Lewisham artist’s continued vitality.
