Following the release of his '1 Sec EP' and his 18th birthday warehouse rave in Hackney, Lewisham's Novelist has continued to show why he's grime's hottest property by dropping his latest instrumental – 'Yakuta Riddim' – via SoundCloud.
In typical Novelist fashion, the track wears its old-school grime influences on its sleeve, with claps reminiscent of old Dexplicit beats, chopped and screwed sinogrime synth stabs, and a few gunshots thrown into the mix.
Novelist has also spent most of the morning tweeting some top boy MCs asking them to vocal the beat, and some of the names flying around suggest this could be one of the strongest line-ups on a grime track for a long time.
The South London prodigy has already asked rave legends D Double E and Flirta D to bring their show-stopping, era-defining flows to the table, as well as Lord of the Mics 6 rivals Big H and P Money, Toronto MC Tre Mission and more.
It might only be February, but we could easily be looking at one of the tracks of the year…
