Southend five piece Nothing But Thieves have shared their muscular new single 'Is Everybody Going Crazy?' – tune in now.
Nothing But Thieves broke out with their debut album 'Broken Machine', a storming Top 10 success story.
Working with producer Mike Crossey on new material, the group intend to make 2020 their own.
New single 'Is Everybody Going Crazy?' honestly could not come at a more apt time, with social media dominated by images of empty supermarkets.
There's a dystopian edge to the single, too, with the raw production allowing the mix to bleed into the red.
Nothing But Thieves comment…
"There is a quiet sadness about the verses. The character in the song doesn't understand the world around themselves or relate to the people in it. What they once thought were the principles or morals they were meant to follow no longer seem to apply. Others seem to revel in the lunacy. In a place like that, it makes you realise that you need something to hang onto, like an anchor."
"There are a few elements of escapism throughout the song, whether it is through another person, stealing a moment to switch off or changing their mentality."
