Returning garage soul act The Noisettes have smashed their way into the Top Ten with new single ‘Don’t Upset The Rhythm’.
Led by the striking figure of Shingai Shoniwa, The Noisettes emerged from the London music scene clutching a handful of frenetic garage anthems. The group released a single with taste makers Trangressive before a battle for their signature erupted between major labels.
Attracted by Shoniwa’s soulful vocals the group were courted by Hitsville USA itself Motown Records. Releasing their debut album ‘What’s The Time Mr Wolf?’ the band received good reviews but failed to breach the charts.
Losing their record contract brought about a major rethink from the group. Working on new material, The Noisettes began experimenting with synthesisers resulting in an exciting new sound. Forthcoming album ‘Wild Young Hearts’ is a remarkable turnaround from the group, as evidenced by new single ‘Don’t Upset The Rhythm’.
A catchy track, the single is amongst the band’s most straight up pop efforts to date. Buoyed by an appearance on a high profile TV as, it has soared into the top ten. The mid week charts show The Noisettes to be perched at number two, just a short distance behind current chart topper Lady Gaga.
The only British entry in the top ten, the race is on to gain pole position!
The Noisettes’ new single ‘Don’t Upset The Rhythm’ is out now. The band’s new album ‘Wild Young Hearts’ is due to be released on March 30th.
