Noel Gallagher has claimed his next studio album will have a "70s disco feel…"
The guitarist swerved the "parka monkeys" with his psychedelic opus 'Who Built The Moon?' a scissor-playing, effects-laden epic.
Continuing to work on new material, the songwriter intends to re-unite with producer David Holmes following a string of South American shows.
Speaking at the launch of new book Any Road Will Get Us There (If We Don’t Know Where We’re Going), Noel Gallagher gave a few pointers of what to expect.
“No one’s ever going to make an interesting album about being a rockstar living on Primrose Hill,” he mused, revealing he seeks inspiration in his childhood.
He joked: “There’s only so many times you can write a song about the rain or use the word ‘shine’, and I’ve got away with it a fucking shitload… I’ve used the chords from ‘Wonderwall’ six times, and let me tell you – it’s not drying up yet.”
Seeking to continue the progress of 'Who Built The Moon?', Noel Gallagher explained the record would have a “’70s disco” feel and sounds “like the beginning of the world”.
Musing on his continuing success, Noel Gallagher said: “I’ve often said to people in my band, ‘None of us here are the best in the world at anything’, do you know what I mean? We’re a group, we make this noise and people love it. From my own part in it, I’m not the best singer, I’m not the best guitarist, but I’m the best in the fucking world at being me. All these people pay to be me, so it’s fucking easy.”
