Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher has revealed that his much rumoured solo album will see the light of day soon.
Noel Gallagher has long been the main songwriter in Oasis, writing everything on the band’s first three albums by himself. However, with brother Liam Gallagher as well as bandmates Andy Bell and Gem Archer contributing songs the Mancunian songwriter has begun stockpiling songs.
A recent solo show at London’s Royal Albert Hall only served to fuel anticipation that a solo album was on the way, with Noel Gallagher frequently stating in interviews that it was his intention to release one.
In a new interview Noel Gallagher states that his solo album will be released before any new Oasis material, but added that he expected each member to work on their solo projects as well. Speaking to Q Magazine he said “I’ve got a lot of songs lying around and some of them are really great. But they’re not Oasis songs.:
“They’re going to sit there and do nothing, so hopefully at the end of this tour I’m going to go and do something for myself.”
The songwriter added that listening to the different solo material would be fascinating for fans, who will find out “how each individual makes up the whole”.
However he also added “I don’t think it’ll affect what Oasis do. Liam, on the other hand, will fucking freak out.”
The two brothers have a notoriously bad relationship with Liam Gallagher recently labelling Noel Gallagher and friend Russell Brand ” a pair of housewives” on the social networking site Twitter.
