Nine Inch Nails ‘Not Dead’

Trent Reznor claims...

Trent Reznor has claimed that Nine Inch Nails are ‘not dead’ despite putting the group on ice last year.

Industrial giants, Nine Inch Nails combined an intense world view with a massive sound. Led by Trent Reznor, the band became an unlikely commercial success winning millions of fans across the globe.

Placed on hiatus last year, Trent Reznor recently announced the formation of a new group. Working with his wife Mariqueen Maandig under the name How To Destroy Angels, the pair are set to release a new EP.

The singer’s first move since leaving Nine Inch Nails behind him, the new EP contains six tracks and will be released later this year.

Now speaking to fans on Facebook Trent Reznor has claimed that despite playing a massive farewell tour last year Nine Inch Nails are “not dead”.

“NIN is not dead” he revealed “and I am about to work on some material that I believe will be quite different than previous NIN very soon.”

Meanwhile, Reznor promised that new material would sound quite different from Nine Inch Nails. “As stated above, this EP is a very early phase of this project. Yes, it sounds more NIN-ish than I believe it will as we progress. To me, HTDA frees me from some of the constraints I’ve begun to feel (primarily emotionally) in NIN.”

Elsewhere, the singer promised a full album from How To Destroy Angels. “This EP is the results of early collaboration” he explained during the chat with fans.

“We were going to use all of 2010 to experiment and gestate but liked the early results and decided to share them. Next up is a full LP (tent. early 2011) and then MAYBE some degree of touring.”
