Former Nine Inch Nails drummer Ilan Rubin has confirmed plans for a special edition of his solo album ‘Coup’.
Nine Inch Nails were essentially a revolving cast around lead singer and lynch pin Trent Reznor. The band’s success over a twenty year period saw the group escape cult obscurity to become the biggest industrial group on the planet.
Entering Nine Inch Nails in 2008, the drummer played in the band’s lengthy farewell tour. Playing some final club shows in Los Angeles earlier this year, Rubin helped bring down the curtain on an American institution.
Lead singer Trent Reznor plans to stay in music, but as yet seems to be taking a break. Furious Twitter escapades aside, the singer seems to be taking things easy.
Ilan Rubin however is set to re-visit a former solo project. The drummer was a member of The New Regime, who released a celebrated album in 2008 – just before the musician joined Nine Inch Nails.
Now the band’s are due to re-issue their debut album in an expanded form with plenty of never heard before extras. Available online, the limited edition version of debut album ‘Coup’ will be kept to just 1000 copies.
The package features the album on 180gram vinyl and CD, as well as a DVD featuring live performances and an interview with Ilan Rubin. In addition to this the album will contain a 16-page booklet and a link to download instrumental mixes.
To celebrate the release The New Regime are set to re-unite for a special one off show in Los Angeles on November 19th. Taking place in legendary venue The Viper Room tickets are available now.
