Nilüfer Yanya returns with new single ‘Like I Say (I runaway)’.
The songwriter has crafted two wonderful albums, moving between indie pop and gossamer soul, with her fantastic lyrical touch acting as the glue for her melodic eclecticism.
Freshly signed to new home Ninja Tune, Nilüfer Yanya opens this fresh chapter with a bold single. Out now, ‘Like I Say (I runaway)’ was crafted alongside long-time creative partner, Wilma Archer; a deft, impressive return, it ratchets up her precocious skills, while exploring the idea of time as a social currency.

“It’s about how you choose to spend your time. Time is like a currency, every moment. You’re never going to get it back. It’s quite an overwhelming thing to realise.”
The full video was directed by Yanya’s sister Molly Daniel that features Nilüfer as a runaway bride.
