Nils Frahm Announces Solo Piano Album ‘Day’

It's out on March 1st...

Nils Frahm will release new solo piano album ‘Day’ on March 1st.

The composer has extensive roots in piano-based composition, but the past decade has seen him move into other, broader spheres. Sifting through his archives in 2021, he shared the ambitious 80 track ‘Old Friends New Friends’, a kind of palette cleanser that afforded him space to move forwards.

New album ‘Day’ returns Nils Frahm to the piano. The first of two album releases planned for 2024, the composer has built six tracks, with three extending out over the six-minute mark.

His first album of new material since 2022’s ‘Music For Animal’, it’s led by pensive yet also soothing piano piece ‘Butter Notes’.

A fine reset for a winter’s day, you can check it out below.

Catch Nils Frahm on tour this summer, including four days across July 13th and 14th in the Barbican, London.
