Newfoundland based songwriter Nico Paulo has shared new single ‘Now Or Never’.
The Portuguese born songwriter is based in the beautiful Canadian region, a base for her gorgeous compositions. Reminiscent of Aldous Harding or Grouper, her hushed intimacy also has a unique sense of emotional directness.
A full album will be released in Spring 2023, following sessions alongside Josh Van Tassel and Tim Baker at a cabin in Nova Scotia, and also at Nico’s home in St John’s, Newfoundland.
New song ‘Now Or Never’ is heavenly, a stark yet gorgeous piece of songwriting that puts us in mind of Jessica Pratt in its emotional honesty.

“The lyric ‘kiss me now or never, hold me close or let me go’ is one of the first lines I wrote and it has stayed relevant to my experiences ever since. This line has haunted me for almost a decade and recent experiences of loss and reconstructing of the self helped me to finally transform it into a song.”
