Mute Records, home to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, have announced the first in four albums by the band that will be re-issued in an exciting new project.
Nick Cave exited the Birthday Party amid recriminations from all sides. The Australian shock rockers were the subject of much ridicule in certain quarters, which helped cement the band in their fans affections. Cave’s journey to Hollywood soundtracker and novelist is one of the most intriguing careers in modern music.
The re-issue programme sees the first four albums by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds be digitally remastered and remixed in 5.1 surround sound. The albums include “From Her To Eternity”, “The First Born Is Dead”, “Kicking Against The Pricks” and “Your Funeral, My Trial” and will be released at the end of the year.
Each album will be released in a deluxe double-disc collector’s edition which will include the re-mastered studio album, a specially commissioned short film plus b-sides and more.
Meanwhile in the present day, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are set to release their new single. “Midnight Man”, taken from their recent album, will be released on July 28th.
