Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are to be the subject of an expansive new re-issue program which will see all fourteen of the band’s studio albums re-released.
Fresh from the psychobilly mania of The Birthday Party, few expected Nick Cave to survive as a songwriter. Yet more than twenty years on, the Australian writer sits in a rare and exalted group whose work can pass as something more than rock songs.
In the past Nick Cave has released two celebrated novels and a book containing his lyrics. A celebrated author, Cave has also worked in cinema on such films as ‘The Proposition’.
Record label Mute have announced a lavish new re-issue program, where each album by the band will be available as a deluxe collectors edition with bonus material and a DVD featuring a short film directed by acclaimed British artists Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard.
Also featuring B-sides, unreleased material, live takes and extensive sleeves notes these re-issues are a treasure trove for Nick Cave fans.
The program begins with Cave’s early material with the first four albums including ‘From Her To Eternity’, ‘The Firstborn Is Dead, Kicking Against The Pricks’ and ‘Your Funeral… My Trial’.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds re-issue program has now been moved and will begins with the first four albums on April 26th.
