With a career spanning more than twenty five years, it may seem a little surprising that Nick Cave is finally winning over the US – but that seems to be the case after a stunning Los Angeles date.
Touring his latest album, the gritty blues of “Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!”, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds popped by the historic Hollywood Bowl venue for a tight, focussed performance.
Clad in a trademark black suit, the Australian singer showed that he remained a theatrical showman as he brought his new album to vivid life. Playing a number of new songs alongside classics such as “Deanna”, Nick Cave was in a fiery mood.
“Here’s a song I wrote that Hollywood made famous. This is for Wes Craven,” Cave said when introducing ‘Red Right Hand’, which was used on the soundtrack to Craven’s movie ‘Scream 2’.
Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds’ set was cut short by a tight venue curfew, with Cave explaining “we have a curfew and we have just a few minutes left so we’ll assume we got an encore,” Cave said before launching into ‘Stagger Lee’.
Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds’ world tour is ongoing.
