Aussie Singer To Present Award

Australian singer Nick Cave has been chosen to present this year’s Turner Prize on December 1st, it has been announced.

The legendary songwriter will reveal the winner of this year’s art award. The annual ceremony is set to take place at London’s Tate Gallery on December 1st.

Amongst the artworks shortlisted for the Turner Prize this year are a mannequin sat on the toilet and a woman smashing cups on the floor. Edgy.

Only four artists are shortlisted for the prize, and this year’s list includes Goshka Macuga, Runa Islam, Cathy Wilkes and Mark Leckey.

As well as being a famous songwriter, Nick Cave has written one novel – ‘…And The Ass Saw The Angel’ – and has starred in a variety of films.

Nick Cave is not the first singer to present the Turner Prize – Madonna was chosen to hand over the award in 2001.
