New Warp Records signing Nice Nice have confirmed details of their debut album and a new UK tour.
Celebrating their 20th anniversary last year, Warp Records looked back on a catalogue glistening with jewels. From Aphex Twin to Grizzly Bear the label has released a string of groundbreaking acts.
Still looking to the future, Warp recently snapped up American duo Nice Nice. Formed by Jason Buehler and Mark Shirazi the band blend Krautrock, electronica, guitars and a heft array of samples to produce uniquely beguiling music.
Second single ‘Extra Wow’ was released earlier this year, and alerted music fans to a bright new talent. Capable heirs to Warp’s imposing reputation, Nice Nice have now confirmed details of their new album.
Titled ‘Extra Wow’ the day glo electronics of Nice Nice are set to light up British music. In a statement the duo claim that they have simply far too many influences to even begin to compile a list.
“We have listened to and played a lot of noisy/experimental music and rhythmic/tribal music and komische/motorik influenced music but, honestly, we have listened to and tried to play just about every style of music that we have come across” they claimed.
“We are complete musical omnivores and love a really wide range of styles and sounds without shame- too much music to possibly list.”
Kickstarting a Stateside tour later this month, Nice Nice are set to return to the UK later this year.
