New York Dolls Album Details

Todd Rundgren To Produce Group

Legendary glam-punks New York Dolls are set to re-unite with producer Todd Rundgren on their new album, reforming a partnership that spawned their 1973 debut album.

Founding members David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain are set to head back into the studio in January to record the as-yet untitled album.

New York Dolls last worked with legendary maverick Todd Rundgren on their 1973 debut album. That self-titled record is widely regarded as their best work as was an important influence on the emerging punk scene due to its shambolic nature and sleazy thrills. 35 years on it is still a potent slice of rock ‘n’ roll.

The new album will be released on the newly relaunched Atco label, through Warner Brothers. Singer David Johansen said in a statement that “we’re really excited to be working with Todd again”. Adding that “we’re hoping to recapture the same magic on the forthcoming album (as was on the debut)”.
