The Louisiana party town takes on Greenwich.
London has more than its fair share of ups and downs but even the grumpiest tabloid columnist would have to acknowledge the diverse array of entertainment on offer across the sprawling metropolis – you can get a heady flavor of pretty much anywhere in the world if you know where to look. For a big taste of the Big Easy, for instance, you need to look at the 02 Arena in October.
Festival New Orleans is a two-day event that pre-empts the high-profile American Football game taking place at Wembley on October 26th, as the New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers hit town. On both the 24th and 25th the 02 will be transformed into the USA’s sexiest city, with the full range of sensory sensations on offer. Authentic sounds will emerge from twenty Big Easy artists including Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Marcia Ball, The Rebirth Brass Band, Buckwheat Zydeco and the excellently named Kermit Ruffins. Louisiana food demonstrations whet the appetite while the Mardis Gras Indians and a recreation of the French Quarter’s famous Bourbon Street should provide a sight for jaded London eyes.
Admission is free, or if you want to make it a full-on New Orleans holiday there are VIP hotel and travel packages available including a hotel room, travel on a clipper boat direct to the O2, access to the VIP area, a private cash bar, private cash food facilities and your own private entrance into the VIP area, plus a Festival New Orleans goody bag.
It’s going to be a memorable two days and Clash has a pair of VIP passes to give away – click here to enter!
