I Am Arrows have confirmed details of a new single and a series of British tour dates.
Andy Burrows is one of rock’s good guys. The genial drummer recently split from Razorlight after one row too many, and decided that he would finish work on a batch of songs he was writing for his own pleasure.
Forming I Am Arrows, the drummer has transformed himself into a frontman. A series of festival shows this summer introduced fans to the new material, with debut album ‘Sun Comes Up Again’ out now.
Taken from the new album, forthcoming single ‘Hurricane’ is a great introduction to I Am Arrows. For his songwriting Andy Burrows seems to recall the early 70s, moving from West Coast acoustic styles to smooth soul.
But this isn’t a mere retro exercise, with I Am Arrows adding elements of electronica to the mix. ‘Hurricane’ is already a favourite with fans, following a brief bout of live activity earlier this summer.
Due for release on October 17th, the single will be followed by a series of British tour dates. With friends in high places, I Am Arrows can boast that their first booked show was at Wembley Stadium.
Claiming a support slot with Muse, the band will then play a number of headline tour dates. Playing Nottingham’s Bodega venue on September 13th, I Am Arrows will travel across the country.
Playing shows in Cardiff, Oxford and Glasgow’s famous King Tuts the band will end the tour in London. Playing the historic venue 100 Club on September 23rd, the show will bring down the curtain on the band’s first nationwide voyage.
