Gruff Rhys and Boom Bip made a spectacular entrance at London’s Cargo club last night, when the duo arrived at the gig in a special DeLorean car.
The car, immortalized in the “Back To The Future” trilogy, was designed by John DeLorean. Neon Neon’s debut album “Stainless Style” is a concept album based on the glamorous (and frequently controversial) life of the playboy engineer.
The band arrived in the spectacular car, wowing fans before launching into a set that drew on the debut album. American sleaze merchant Har Mar Superstar joined the band on the song “Trick For Treat” while the band used a series of backdrops to illuminate the story.
Neon Neon is one of the more unlikely collaborative efforts of the year, as Welsh psychedelic wonder Gruff Rhys joined forces with hip hop producer Boom Bip.
