Neil Young has shared a fiery broadside in protest at Donald Trump's continued use of 'Rockin’ In The Free World'.
The Republican politician began using the song earlier this year, prompting the songwriter's management to politely ask him to stop.
In response, Donald Trump called Neil Young "a hypocrite" and shared a picture of the two together. Noting that the politician is continuing to use his song at rallies, Neil Young has now shared a further, rather sterner statement.
He writes: "When I discovered that the candidate first used my song at his campaign launch , my management called his office and immediately requested he stop. We thought he had. But now, unfortunately, I understand he is still using it."
Reiterating his support for Bernie Sanders, Neil Young continues: "I do not endorse hate, bigotry, childish name calling, the superficiality of celebrity or ignorance."
The songwriter also included a short live clip, introducing 'Rockin’ In The Free World' with the words: "Fuck you, Donald Trump!"
