Legendary songwriter Neil Young has unveiled plans to release a new live album ‘Dreamin’ Man’ later this year.
Neil Young is simply one of the most respected songwriters alive. From his work with Buffalo Springfield to his recent ‘Fork In The Road’ solo LP Neil Young has continually changed and evolved without losing sight of the central drama of his music.
Whether teaming up with Crazy Horse to make an almighty garage inspired racket or playing with just an acoustic for company, Neil Young is a sensational live act. The singer recently returned to the UK for a series of shows, including a slot at Glastonbury.
However Neil Young is set to look back for his new live album. The songwriter has scheduled the release of a new album titled ‘Dreamin’ Man’ which is set to be released in November.
The album contains an entire concert drawn from the ‘Harvest Moon’ tour in 1992, which followed the release of the album with the same name. A stunning return to his acoustic roots, ‘Harvest Moon’ was greeted with no small measure of acclaim on its release.
The new disc is titled ‘Neil Young Archive Performance Series #12’ and it has not been made clear where the name comes from. Earlier this year Neil Young released the career spanning box set ‘Archives Volume One’ which contained three live discs earlier ear-marked for release.
Quite why the singer has decided to leap from #3 to #12 is open to debate, but this is far from the first live album Neil Young has released. Aside from the ubiquitous MTV Unplugged the singer has also released ‘Arc’, ‘Meld’ and last year’s ‘Sugar Mountain’ set taken from a concert in 1968.
Neil Young is set to release ‘Neil Young Archive Performance Series #12’ on November 2nd in the United States.
