East London based singer-songwriter Nectar Woode has shared her new single, ‘God Talks Back’, which will feature on her debut EP ‘Nothing To Lose’ set for release February 23rd via Communion.
Following earlier releases ‘Good Vibrations’ and ‘Waiting’, ‘God Talks Back’ settles into a similar downtempo, lilting terrain, with Woode invoking her inner power to pursue a burgeoning relationship with vigour.
Speaking about the song, Nectar explains: “God Talks Back takes us through a journey of pursuing someone you are attracted to and following that instinct to make the first move. Taking that one step into the unknown and not caring about the outcome because your instinct has got you. ‘God’ referenced in this is just the inner you! Follow it with the purest intention and see what happens.”

Hailing from Milton Keynes, Woode moved to London and was soon edified by the capital’s neo-soul community. Influenced by the worldly soul of Erykah Badu and D’Angelo as a child, she took a deep dive into their music whilst at university and began playing in bands with friends covering their songs, later inspired to work on original creations.
With a debut EP on the horizon, Nectar Woode is on the brink of a breakthrough.
