Neal Francis has shared plans for new album ‘Return To Zero’.
The incoming LP – his third to date – taps into his fondness for classic songwriting tropes, with a passion for melody that recalls Jeff Lynne at his most profound.
Out on March 14th via ATO Records, it blends early 70s leaning psych-pop tropes with something vivid, and almost Americana adjacent. Sounding not unlike peers The Lemon Twigs in places, new single ‘What’s Left Of Me’ is the perfect launchpad.
Constructed alongside chart-topping Nashville-based songwriter Chris Gelbuda, the uplifting sonics match an astute portrait of life on the road.
Neal Francis comments…
“Chris and I are good friends and we got to talking about the challenges of being in a committed relationship while you’re on tour,”
“A lot of these songs were influenced by Electric Light Orchestra and the way Jeff Lynne synthesizes classical music and pop songwriting, and ‘What’s Left Of Me’ was definitely one where I was going for an ELO vibe.”
Tune in now.
