Nathan Connolly Links With Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil On ‘Fires’

Nathan Connolly combines with Biffy Clyro vocalist Simon Neil on new song ‘Fires’.

The guitarist is known for his role in Snow Patrol, helping guide the band from underground acceptance to mainstream domination. Remarkably, he’s never released a solo album during his two decade career – until now, that is.

Out later this year, ‘The Strange Order Of Things’ stems from shifts in his personal life, with Nathan Connolly using music to sift through this. In a note to fans, he says the record is “trying to understand, make sense and work through events that have led to who I am now: heartache, regret, emotional cost, fatherhood.”

New single ‘Fires’ is online now, and it features Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil. The two go back a long way, and the song taps into a very intimate space. Nathan comments…

“I have known Simon since back in my early days with Snow Patrol. The first show I remember playing together was a Zane Lowe MTV Gonzo show in Glasgow in 2003. Over the years we occasionally mentioned doing something together at some point. Finally, the opportunity came in the form of ‘Fires’. He is extraordinary and came at the song from somewhere I don’t think I would or could have…”
