R&B voice Natanya has shared new single ‘Raining Tomorrow’.
These are heady days for the singer: debut EP ‘Sorrow At Sunrise’ is out on September 29th, and she plays We Out Here festival this coming weekend. Scheduled to join the line-up of Stormzy’s special all-day celebration at All Points East, Natanya is set to be inescapable this summer.
New single ‘Raining Tomorrow’ shows why she’s become the name to drop. Effortlessly soulful artistry, the rising voice – still only 20 years old – seems blessed with the ability to connect.
In a note, she labels the song “a love letter to the innocent fear of really growing up” with her lyrics engaging with “the girl, the character is timid, then she finds that confidence, but it’s still a kid in adults‘ clothes”.
There’s a trace of nostalgia to her work, with this wistful aspect to Natanya’s songwriting. She says: “I was really intent on trying to capture youth through my own nostalgia; I was in the record shop every day after school. CC’s my best friend, we met during one of the most pivotal points of my life. I wanted to create that contrast between innocence & newfound adolescent confidence, with all the quirks included.”
Tune in now.
