Nao has shared new single ‘Balance’.
The singer released her rightly-celebrated third studio album ‘And Then Life Was Beautiful’ almost two years ago, and since then she’s taken a step back from music. Well, she was nominated for a MOBO. And she worked on Stormzy’s album. But for Nao, that probably constitutes something of a reset, affording her space to look afresh at her music.
Out new, single ‘Balance’ is her first official solo release in 24 months, and it’s a sizzling energy boost. Coming just as summer threatens to disappear, Nao brings the sunshine on a dancehall-infused piece of UK soul effervescence.
Staying true to herself, Nao offers pop that is intelligent and full of emotion – throw in a spectacular Skillibeng guest spot, and you’ve got a winner.

“The track is a fun way of exploring boundaries. For me, mine is having a better Balance in life. I used to be a workaholic which eventually took a big toll on my well-being. Once I found a better Balance in life it was important to let other people in my life know that I had shifted into a new way of being and to understand that.”
