Ice Cube has revealed that he will be joined by several members of N.W.A. at this year's Coachella.
The light of N.W.A. burns brighter than ever, more than 20 years on from their fateful implosion. Last year's Compton film won critical plaudits – Oscar nominations aside – and it was followed by Dr. Dre's first studio album in a decade.
Now Ice Cube has revealed that he plans to bring out various members of the group during his Coachella set. The rapper is booked to play a solo show, but that won't stop him giving fans what he terms "a history lesson".
Speaking on Stateside show The Talk (via NME) the hip-hop icon said: "I’ve got some tricks up my sleeves… I’m gonna try to bring the members of N.W.A. together. Give everybody a little history lesson on Ice Cube and N.W.A., West Side Connection, everything I’ve been doing over the years."
Ice Cube added that his set would boast "some great visuals" – does that mean that the late Eazy E will appear as a hologram? Stranger things have happened…
N.W.A. will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on April 8th.
