Emerging four-piece My First Time have shared new single ‘Man Of Ill Repute’.
The band tap into that classic British guitar lineage, matching spiky post-punk guitars to an infectious passion for melody. Reminiscent of ‘Modern Life Is Rubbish’ era blur, the group’s lyricism also has that worldly wise ennui of Mike Skinner.
There’s also a clear thirst for pop ambition, too – lead singer Isaac counts Marina and Dizzee Rascal as two inspirations, illustrating the breadth of their sound.
Out now, ‘Man Of Ill Repute’ comes straight out of the traps, a three-minute exposition for My First Time’s skills. Rippling with potential, it’s a song that speaks to those long nights in cramped vans, heading across the country to play show after show.
A quietly impressive piece of pop-edged indie, ‘Man Of Ill Repute’ carries a real sense of assurance – My First Time could be prepped to breakout in 2025.
Tune in now.
