Reformed shoegazing legends My Bloody Valentine have announced a low key warm up show in London’s ICA ahead of their first UK tour in over 15 years.
The group emerged from the shambling sound of C86 before taking a striking new direction that resulted in two astonishing, ground breaking albums – “Isn’t Anything” and “Loveless”. Their new mix of noisy guitars and ethereal vocals gave birth to a new genre – the much derided but actually quite good ‘shoegazing’ – and has proved to be a lasting influence on such groups as Sigur Ros.
My Bloody Valentine are set to play a low key gig in London’s ICA venue on June 13th. The band will play with no support, and tickets are expected to be scarce as fans scramble to catch a glimpse of this legendary group.
The My Bloody Valentine tour itinerary currently runs as follows:
June 13th – The ICA, London
June 20th – Roundhouse, London
June 28th – Apollo, Manchester
July 2nd – Barrowlands, Glasgow
