The new Brian Jonestown Massacre album will be titled “My Bloody Underground” and is due out on March 31st, it has been announced.
Their first new work for 4 years, the album was recorded in Liverpool and Reykjavik. Led by notorious lead singer Anton Newcombe, the band have earned a cult following due to their whirling psychedelic sound and Newcombe’s odd behaviour – documented in award winning film “DIG!”.
The band have strong links with the early 90s British shoegazing scene. The upcoming album features Mark Gardener, one-time frontman of Ride, whilst the title is a homage to scene-leaders My Bloody Valentine.
“My Bloody Underground” is released on March 31st on Anton Newcombe’s own A Recordings label.
