Muse are already looking towards their next tour, claiming that it could be more intimate.
Muse are now one of the biggest bands on the planet. Certainly the most audacious, the Teignmouth trio’s music is like Queen jamming with Wagner – loud, proud and thoroughly over the top.
Currently playing an enormous British tour, the band are set for a two night stint at Wembley. Muse are due to perform in the stadium across the weekend, with tickets long since sold out for the huge shows.
Spending the summer touring across the United States and headlining festivals, Muse are now set to swap massive crowds for something more intimate.
“I feel like we can’t go much bigger in terms of the kinds of concerts we’re playing,” singer Matt Bellamy told Time Out. “Weirdly, that seems to have coincided with my personal life destabilising about a year ago. I split from a relationship… I was doing lots of self-analysing.”
Continuing, the singer argued that more personal material would require a smaller setting. “I sense that that’s going to lead to a writing project that will be more personal, rather than talking about grand political concerns.”
“That itself might lead to material that’s more suitable for smaller venues.”
Muse opened their tour on Saturday (September 4th) with a performance at Lancashire Country Cricket Ground. The huge show was an overwhelming success, and saw the trio delve into their back catalogue.
Set to play Wembley on September 10th and 11th, Muse are re-visiting the scene of their greatest triumph. Headlining the stadium back in 2007, the epic show resulted in the ‘HAARP’ concert film.
Muse are set to play the following shows:
September
10 London Wembley Stadium
11 London Wembley Stadium
