Muse In Fox TV Row

Epic group slate presenter

Stadium-prog trio Muse have stunned observers in the United States by asking Fox TV presenter Glenn Beck to take back his public endorsement.

Muse aren’t known for their political views. Lyrically, the band are concerned more with super massive black holes in outer space than the British budget, while new album ‘The Resistance’ doesn’t mention the credit crunch once.

However the band have reacted furiously after Fox TV presenter Glenn Beck publicly endorsed Muse on his syndicated radio show. The media personality is known for his conservative political stance, which he appeared to claim the band themselves share.

Presenting ‘The Glenn Beck Program’ on September 16th the personality claimed that the band’s new album ‘The Resistance’ was “fantastic”. The new record entered the Billboard charts at number three.

“These guys are brilliant, they know the time that we live in. They are libertarians from England,” he said. “All of the lyrics are just dead on, on what’s coming our way.”

Can Muse really predict the future? We demand to know.

Glenn Beck continued his praise via Twitter, informing his fans that he believed Muse shared his conservative views. “New Muse CD. Amazing. These guys are right on the money. Lyrics on target, talent off the charts. They ‘get it’. Libertarian!”

Muse have now reacted furiously, demanding that the presenter re-tract his statements. Glenn Beck is currently at the centre of a row after labelling President Barack Obama “racist”.

Speaking on a later radio show Glenn Beck said: “I just got an email from representation of Muse. They would like me to retract my endorsement. My apologies to Muse for saying that I like them. I didn’t mean to destroy all their credibility and all their coolness.”

“Let me just set the record straight. Muse – I hate them. It’s an awful album and you should never go out and buy it.”
