Returning stadium prog group Muse are set to appear on the soundtrack to the forthcoming vampire film ‘Twilight’.
Muse released their new album ‘The Resistance’ last week ending months of speculation over their new direction. Bombastic, the album was equally inspired by prog and glam rock and is every bit as outlandish as you would imagine.

Now it seems that the band are set to let their material be used in the soundtrack to the forthcoming vampire sequel ‘New Moon’. Singer Matt Bellamy confirmed in a recent interview that he had spoken to director Chris Weitz about the band’s involvement.
“I spoke to the director yesterday (and) he wants the track ‘I Belong To You’, the sort of vaudeville piano track,” Bellamy told MTV News.
Taken from ‘The Resistance’ the song ‘I Belong To You (+Mon Coeur S’Ouvre A Ta Voix)’ is already a firm favourite with fans.
Continuing Bellamy said: “He wants a rendition of that but the only thing with the new film is they want the songs to be exclusive to the film. So he’s asking if I mind doing, or if we mind doing, an alternative version of it,” he added.
“I think it’s alright – if it was one of the main tracks on the album I would never do it. But it’s actually one of the weirder tracks on the album.”
“(The song is) one of the ‘can’t believe we got away with it’ kind of tracks. I think it might be worth giving it a go because it’s a track that might not get played live very often… one of the obscure tracks off the album so it might give that track some life that it wouldn’t have otherwise.”
The film’s soundtrack is rumoured to contain contributions from Bon Iver, The Killers and Radiohead singer Thom Yorke.
Muse are currently number one with ‘The Resistance’ after scoring the biggest first week sales of any release this year.
