Muse For Radio 1 Special

Hometown show to be broadcast

Returning stadium prog merchants Muse are set to return to their hometown of Teignmouth, with Radio 1 in tow.

When Muse first arrived on the British music scene ten years, few could have predicted their current stature. With Matt Bellamy’s soaring voice and an epic songwriting talent, the trio nonetheless burned with ambition.

The Devon group are set to return with their new album ‘The Resistance’ later this year. The first new material from Muse since their 2006 album ‘Black Holes And Revelations’ the forthcoming record is set to be one of the biggest albums this year.

Of course, we mean ‘big’ in every sense of the word. Muse are now capable of filling stadiums, and retreated to an Italian mansion to work on their epic new album. In a recent interview lead singer Matt Bellamy revealed that the record is due to have a song structured around a three part symphony.

With a massive feel the new release will enshrine Muse as one of the planet’s biggest rock groups. Now Radio 1 are set to celebrate the group by devoting an entire night’s programming to the Teignmouth band.

The station first began covering the trio’s career ten years ago, a decade which has seen them sell out Wembley. The band are due to return to their Devon hometown for a very special show, and Radio 1 will be there all the way.

Taking place on September 7th ‘Muse Night’ will contain archive material alongside new interviews, with fans explaining just what the band means to them.

The show will contain the full set from Muse’ homecoming show on September 5th alongside a documentary charting the history of the group.
