Mr Benn has unveiled his debut album 'Shake A Leg' – listen to a preview below.
Born in the soundsystems of Jamaica, reggae has left a profound influence on British culture. From ska to digital dancehall, roots to lover's rock, the many shades of reggae music have given British musicians a fresh palette to choose from.
Based in Bristol, Mr Benn could hardly avoid the trace of bass running through the city. Cutting a number of one off plates, the producer has developed a style which leans on the low-bound bump of hip hop and his beloved reggae.
Frequently working with MCs, the producer has spent the past four years developing his debut album. Titled 'Shake A Leg' – no doubt a wry reference to its extended gestation – the album is out today (July 15th) through Nice Up! Records.
Packed with some top class toasting, 'Shake A Leg' includes appearances from Top Cat, Tenor Fly, The Ragga Twins and Serocee while up 'n' comers such as Eva Lazarus, Nanci Correia and Peppery.
