Mountain Boy Embraces Introspection With ‘Morning Heat’

It's a pastoral piece of acoustic songwriting...

Mountain Boy is a New Zealand artist based in London, someone who has crossed the world chasing his dream.

Plaintive acoustic songwriting with a pastoral edge, his thoughtful, often introspective approach makes for an engrossing listen.

Poetic of lyric and gilded of melody, his elegant touch turns Mountain Boy into something extremely engrossing.

Take new single 'Morning Heat'. A warm and inviting piece of music, it was crafted during the deepest part of winter.

A song about fleeting moments, it manages to locate something permanent within these elements of transience.

"When I started writing 'Morning Heat' it was the middle of winter," he explains. "In that landscape of frost and hibernation, there were many mornings where my wife and I would wake to find ourselves clinging to each other for warmth, with an inclination to stay."

"As fleeting as those moments were, something about them felt sacred and that was very much the starting place for the song."
