London jazz drummer Moses Boyd has dropped new release 'Stranger Than Fiction'.
A key component of the current wave of energy in London's jazz scene – his 'Rye Lane Shuffle' is already seminal – Moses Boyd spent summer on the road, playing some fantastic festival sets.
Heading into the studio, he's begun to build the follow-on to last year's exceptional EP 'Displaced Diaspora'.
Continually looking ahead, new release 'Stranger Than Fiction' is out now, a stirring fusion of club tropes and the fluid flexibility of jazz composition.
Driven by Moses Boyd's relentless grasp of rhythmic technique, the song has a political edge, with the composer continually linking his music to the context in which it is made.
Moses Boyd comments: "We're in a time where the state of our politics, environment and news feel more like an alternate reality. And sadly the truth is often stranger than fiction".
Tune in now.
Moses Boyd will play London's fabric on October 30th.
