Morrissey is set to release a live version of 'Satellite Of Love' as a tribute to Lou Reed.
Lou Reed's passing has brought all manner of tributes. News of the Velvet Underground legend's death seemed to cross genres, borders, with a huge array of musicians paying their respects.
Writing on fan site True To You, Morrissey claimed that Lou Reed "will always be pressed to my heart. Thank God for those, like Lou, who move within their own laws, otherwise imagine how dull the world would be."
Now it seems that the indie icon is going one step further. Morrissey will release a live rendition of 'Satellite Of Love' on December 2nd, to be supported by additional live tracks.
Recorded at the Chelsea Ballroom at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on 25 November 2011, the live recording will gain a heavyweight 12 inch and seven inch picture disc release in January.
Operating without a label, Morrissey has opted to release the single through Parlophone.
The release will also coincide with the release of Morrissey's 'Autobiography' as an audiobook – read by none other than British actor Neil Morrissey.
