Mancunian minstrel of melancholy Morrissey has posed naked for the artwork of his forthcoming single ‘I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris’.
The singer is set to return with his new single on February 9th. The first track to be taken from his forthcoming ninth studio album ‘Years Of Refusal’, the single is Morrissey’s most anticipated in years coming after several high profile court cases.
Previous album ‘Ringleader Of The Tormentors’ was the singer’s last on Sanctuary / Attack. Since then, Morrissey has moved to Decca who will release the forthcoming album.
The artwork has been posted on a Morrissey fansite and features the singer and his band posing naked, with their modesty protected by 7-inch vinyl records.
ClashMusic can’t help but be reminded of the old Morrissey lyric from ‘Late Night, Maulin Street’ – ‘me without clothes, well a nation turns it head and gags’.
Morrissey releases ‘I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris’ on February 9th.
