Morrissey Postpones American Tour Dates

To be with his ailing mother

Morrissey has postponed a number of North American tour dates in order to be with his ailing mother.

Morrissey rarely speaks about his family. That said, though, the singer is obviously fond of his mother – frequently mentioning her of his own volition during interviews. Sadly, it seems that the singer's mother is battling ill health.

Last week Morrissey cancelled a number of North American shows, rushing back to England to be with his mother. Now the indie icon has decided to postpone his entire tour, although he has vowed to re-organised all previously announced shows.

Posting a statement online through True To You Morrissey's representatives said:

All remaining dates on the current US Tour have been postponed – but not cancelled – as Morrissey has returned to England where his mother has been hospitalized and is unwell. Due to issues with his mother's health, Morrissey will need to remain by her side during this difficult period.

Those who have already purchased tickets for all upcoming dates are highly encouraged to hold on to their tickets and look out for the rescheduled dates. The new dates will be announced shortly. Morrissey would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as the shows are being prepared for a swift reschedule.
