Montreal Figure Annie-Claude Deschênes Shares ‘Menace Minimale’

Burned out, charcoal electronics...

Montreal composer Annie-Claude Deschênes has shared new single ‘Menace Minimale’.

Out now, the single comes courtesy of Italians Do It Better, a powerhouse in the world of avant electronics. The single marks a fresh chapter for this inventive artist, a key aspect of Montreal’s DIY firmament.

Having worked as part of Duchess Says and PyPy, Annie-Claude Deschênes is noted for her visual art, and for pursuing a distinctive, singular aesthetic.

‘Menace Minimale’ epitomises this. Dark to the point of interstellar blackness, the charred electronics merge the digital with the analogue, producing something intense, but also profoundly revealing about its maker.

Sub-zero cold wave messthetics, ‘Menace Minimale’ brims over with intelligence, and a deeply-felt sense of sound design.

Tune in now.
