Montreal composer Alexandra Stréliski has shared new song ‘Lumières’.
The composer sits in that modern classical vein, while grappling with its own identity. A unique figure, her debut album ‘Pianoscope’ landed back in 2010, and became an extraordinary word-of-mouth success.
New album ‘Néo-Romance‘ is out on April 14th via XXIM Records/Sony Masterworks, with the Montreal artist sharing beautiful piece ‘Lumières’ ahead of this.
Unfolding at its own pace, ‘Lumières’ seems to encourage conversation, a piece of music that thrives on open communication. Blissful and bucolic, it’s a piece “about fantasy and story-telling,” as she puts it.
Alexandra Stréliski comments: “It’s inspired by the Age of Enlightenment where people would gather around in French salons and discuss big (and small) ideas…”
Tune in now.
