Monako’s ‘Town’ Is An Intriguing Piece Of Dream Pop

Get to know this Canadian-German project...

Monako is a truly international project.

A mixture of Canadian and German musicians loosely centred around Hamburg, vocalist Naomie De Lorimier's Montreal roots add a French influence to the melodies.

It's a dreamy infusion, one that reaches freshly intoxicating levels on new single 'Town'.

A glacial piece of guitar pop that warms to heavenly levels, it traces “the pursuit of a perfect utopia, abandoned to pave the way for the search of a viable model made up of compromises and contradictions…”

Lyrically, it comes from a time of anxiety, when “your mind is racing everywhere and nowhere at the same time. When you’ve tried everything, the only thing that’s left is a surreal, dream-like emptiness.”

Tune in now.
