Thieves have stolen equipment from Mogwai’s lock up in Glasgow, the band have revealed.
Sad news…
Mogwai have messaged fans on their Facebook feed, revealing that they have had several items of equipment stolen from their base in Glasgow. The post-rock group still use a base in the city, which was apparently raised by thieves.
Initially, it seemed that Mogwai had suffered the loss of a guitar. Owned by Stuart Braithwaite, the instrument was a plum Chet Atkins Gretsch – a thing of beauty in itself, but no doubt having irreplaceable sentimental value.
Now the Scottish band have posted a full list of the equipment stolen from their Glasgow base. Taken from their Facebook feed, the entire list is as follows:
Marshall JCM800 Bass Series Guitar Head – Serial No: 117401P
Orange Thunderverb 200 Guitar Head – Serial No: 017241110
Orange ad200b Bass Head
Fender Acoustic Guitar
Orange OR120 – Serial No: 997
Fender 72 telecaster (Black)
12 Rack Guitar Stand (In Black Case)
Gretsch Country Gentlemen Guitar (Plum)

The news has obviously come as a devastating blow to the band. Mogwai are currently on down time, but the Scottish group had been planning a one off Christmas show at Glasgow venue the Barrowlands on December 22nd.
Tickets for the show are on sale now, but hopefully the band will be able to celebrate the return of their equipment in time for the festive season.
Mogwai are set to play the following show:
