Mogwai Return With ‘God Gets You Back’

The band go on tour next year...

Scottish post-rock group Mogwai return with new single ‘God Gets You Back’.

The band have had a busy summer, curating their very own festival in Glasgow – hosted on the city’s southside, Big City Festival saw Mogwai joined by friends, peers, and a few personal heroes.

2021 album ‘As The Love Continues’ reached No. 1, with the band recently premiering Mogwai: If The Stars Had A Sound – the first documentary to be completed on their history, it was directed by long-time collaborator Antony Crook.

New single ‘God Gets You Back’ is out now, a glorious feast of noise that begins in subtle fashion, before surging to its roaring climax. Drummer Martin Bulloch powers the song, while Barry Burns decided the song needed some lyrics – having a dose of writer’s block, he asked his seven-year-old daughter, who thankfully obliged.

Out now, ‘God Gets You Back’ is tethered to a new video, directed and created by Hand Held Cine Club (Justin and James Lockey).

Tune in now.

Mogwai have confirmed a full international tour for 2025, including three UK shows –

February
20 London O2 Academy Brixton
22 Leeds O2 Academy
23 Edinburgh Usher Hall
