"Batcat EP" Due Soon

Scots sonic explorers Mogwai are gearing up to the release of their new "Batcat EP", due to hit the shops on September 8th.

The band have been holed up in the studio working on the follow up to 2006's album "Mr Beast". The critically acclaimed group are one of the cornerstone groups of the post-rock genre, and recently re-released their seminal debut album "Young Team".

The new "Batcat" release can boast a track named "Stupid Prick Gets Chased By The Police And Loses His Slut Girlfriend" as well as an appearance by US psych-rock legend Roky Erickson. As leader of the influential Texas group The 13th Floor Elevators Erickson fought with the authorities, eventually pleading insanity in an attempt to escape a drugs charge. However, his treatment caused lasted psychological damage, and this new collaboration is one of his first major releases in over a decade.
