Busy times for Modeselektor. As if simply being Modeselektor wasn't enough, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary recently paired off with Apparat (Sascha Ring) to complete the second album under their Moderat moniker.
'II' is expected to be released this summer, with Moderat recently commenting: "We have known each other for 12 years now, and during that time we haven't really changed that much: We are still three guys mostly talking about hi-hats and tape machines while hanging out in the studio."
Now it seems that the German duo are working on a film. 'We Are Modeselektor' is the work of filmmakers Holger Wick and Romi Agel and bills itself as “a post-German reunification movie, a travel report, and a portrait of the special friendship between Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary all in one”.
A trailer for the 72 minute documentary has emerged online. Featuring the duo working in the studio and playing in a hotel pool, it's a curious insight into one of electronic music's most enthralling partnerships.
