All-new EP ‘Mix It Up Vol. 2’ pairs UK rap talent against breakout amapiano producers.
The project is spearheaded by Nando’s, and the inaugural instalment dropped a few months back. The project is simple, but incredibly effective – it’s aimed at breaking down cultural barriers, and allowing creativity to flow.
This time round, ‘Mix It Up Vol. 2’ pairs four UK rappers, against a quartet of vital production talent from the amapiano scene. A hemisphere-spanning endeavour, K-Trap, Kojey Radical, Lost Girl and Niko B represent the UK, while MFR Souls, Mathandos, LuuDaDeejay and Dinh step up for South Africa (there’s also one SA vocalist, Makhanj).
The results push the music of each artist into a different space. Ever yearned to hear amapiano beats given a UK drill spin? Eager for British artists to flex against production talent from South Africa? This is your moment.
Out now, the project celebrates the South African heritage that steers Nando’s, and is accomplished in partnership with non-profit, South Africa-based organisation Bridges For Music.
Tune in now.
