Mick Jagger is set to step in as the guest host of an upcoming edition of Saturday Night Live.
An American television institution, Saturday Night Live remains an important platform for new music. However as Lana Del Rey discovered to her cost earlier this year, this can sometimes backfire…
One of the most iconic frontmen in rock, Mick Jagger should be a safe pair of hands. Drawing towards another season finale, Saturday Night Live have decided to recruit the Rolling Stone as their guest host.
Due to present a special one off edition of Saturday Night Live, Mick Jagger is also due to perform on the show. In total, this is Mick Jagger’s third appearance on Saturday Night Live.
The announcement comes as fans wait for the latest news regarding a potential Rolling Stones tour. Designed to coincide with the band’s 50th anniversary, the dates have been the subject of much delay.
Rehearsals took place earlier this year, but seemingly The Rolling Stones are simply not ready to launch a tour. American magazine Rolling Stone have conducted an extensive investigation, with claims that Keith Richards might not withstand the rigours of the road.
Chatting with the Stateside title, though, the guitarist remained a natural raconteur. “Basically, we’re just not ready,” he said. Citing 2013 as a potential date, Richards said: “I have a feeling that’s more realistic”.
